as much as I hate the evil empire, htomail gets the job done very well. I hear from others that Yahoo is equally accomplished.

There is always GMail....I have some invites if anyone wants one.

I ended up trying Lycos, got a good address but the pop ups are annoying.
I've used Hotmail as an auxillary e-mail account since about 1997 and have no complaints.

G-Mail is decent but too many hints of them reading your mail to deliver adverts you'd read.
I too have used hotmail for about 8 years now and it's just fine, especially since the storage size increased
Yahoo is great for me. No problems and no pop ups...
Gmail is the way to go homes, check your pm's.
We use hotmail as our primary account. We actually have paid-for email through comcast, but since we have the hotmail streamlined to be spam-free and they increased the storage it works pretty well. No decent mailing list program is a problem, though. Mostly I'm just too lasy to switch over to the comcast one.
Wow! I thought I was the only person that was too lazy to use my ISP email. I've had my hotmail since 1999, back in the days when you only used to have to use 4 letters for a password. I like it, it's very sentimental I have some messages stored in it from 1999 too.
My oldest messages are from October 2001, congratulating on Thor's birth. )
