Today is Columbus Day, so are you working or going to school today? This is the only federal holiday I have to work on but its so quiet today I guess everyone thinks we are closed roll
It's going to be a long and boring day today............. lol
read the jokes section cel, may cheer you up a bit.. grin
I had no idea today was Columbus Day.
Just another day at the office regards...
Seeing as Columbus Day isn't a recognized holiday in the UK - it really means very little to me even if I AM over in the US now. I am sure if I had been taught American history it would mean a bit more to me.
I have to work today too - but only until noon because Mondays are my habitual half days. Every day's a long and boring one for me........I'm wondering if I'll ever have a job in the US where I actually have to *w-o-r-k*.

Maybe, just maybe, you might want to think about going back to the UK?
Do they celebrate Cook Day in Australia, New Zealand or even Hawaii? 8)
Or is everyday a cook day wink
every day is a day off for me, but the kids are off school today.
Ours are in school. They get Martin Luther King day off instead.
Ours get that too Monster
do you get months where it feels like they haven't had a single full week in school? lol
I never get Columbus Day off or Veteran's Day either as school is open both days.
Students boycott class though which is fine as there are more parking spaces then. I do get comp time for having to work Veteran's Day.
I never got it off when I worked, I think it was the same for my wife when she was working. I don't know if the daughters did or not because I left in the morning before they were up and got home in time for dinner.
In a casino, there are very very few days off. I think Christmas, New Year's Day, 4th July and Thanksgiving are the only paid days off I get. Anything else I have to use PTO. No federale goodness here.
/which sucks
I'm tired of America having all these holidays that nobody ever gets off but Federal employees.
Not that I get any holiday off anyway......(
Today is Thanksgiving in Canada. So almost everyone has today off. Yesterday was roast turkey/greedyguts day.
Thanksgiving here isn't tied in with the pilgrims and all that. It's just a thankyou for the harvest. I guess it's earlier here because the growing season is generally shorter.
