Ha Ha! We're moving to Baltimore at the start of November. Leaving DE and its concrete spaghetti roads and endless, pointless subdivisions and moving to a city, oh a city at last! Was this a good descision? Actually we spent a couple of days there a while ago but didn't see too much of it. Liked what we did see though. Anybody familiar with Baltimore? outside of John Waters movies and food channel docs about crab cakes (Yuck!) we know very little.
Evening all grin
The only reasons to go to Baltimore are the Innner Harbour, crab cakes, Campden Yards and the roads going to better places. Personal opinion, sorry

Hav friends there but actually know nothing about the place.
Baltimore is not far from Annapolis a great place .It reminds me of Whitby, I am sure all Britneters would love the place.
Also, there is a big army museum with German tanks and other interesting stuff on the outskirts of Baltimore.I have not visited this yet.
I went there for 4 days like three years ago with my old job. Just saw the Inner Harbor area, which was pretty cool. Otherwise, it's your average East Coast city, which means bloody cold in the winter and expensive property prices.

Tee hee... Sorry JohnA, but that is funny!

I personally love Baltimore, but I know it's not to everyone's taste. I disagree about bad traffic. Traffic can be bad on I-95, and headed to DC, but local roads flow freely even during rush hour. Baltimore is making good process in the reduction in violent crown, and there is SO much new development going on it's astounding. This is a city that is going places, and a house in Baltimore is a great investment as prices will keep going up.

Please take a look at some of my personal photography of Baltimore. These tours touch on the Inner Harbor but will also show you there is plenty more to see than that

I wish I knew where we will be living, but we pretty sure it will be down town somewhere. The company my wife works for sorts out all the accomodation for us, we just get to look at pictures of places and then send them our top three. Its a funny way of doing things, but i'm getting used to it. People always say "But why did you come here?" when we move anywhere. Why not? For a poor boy from the UK i'm having a great time. Alot of people back home seem to shy away from the idea of moving somewhere different - personally i've been in the same place for far too long.
These pictures of Baltimore are really cool. We saw some of the inner harbour and fells point area and stayed in the Harbour Court(Great deal on Orbitz) which I just saw in Cecil B Demented on Showtime the other night. We liked it so much we wanted to try it out for three months and see if it would be somewhere to put down roots, Baltimore, that is- not the harbour court hotel
