GWB has found someone to blame for all of his problems.
Not his mother, but God.

May be some fabrication, but almost believable.
I think those saying he said that are somewhat taking the p**s but serves him right - you play with fire, you get burned.
I like how God didn't say "Hey George, there's a massive hurricane about to hit New Orleans, you better get ready to save some people."
The only thing that bothers me about this story is that it is exactly the same story from June 2003. That's a little sloppy isn't it? I mean, it's THE front page story on the Guardian and Independent today and they ran it there then too - the Guardian even managing to change the place the event was supposed to happen. What's more whilst most news agencies mention that the White house denied the whole thing as absurd the Independent comes up with "The White House has refused to comment on what it terms a private conversation." Huh? No it didn't - it said it wasn't true.

If there's one thing I hate it is bad journalism. There are plenty of ways to show how Bush is awful - especially lately. This is just poor journalism.

Apparantly, it was God's punishment for the sexual depravity, Gay Pride festivals and Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Better watch out, Vegas is next.

New Orleans Residents: God's Mercy Evident in Katrina's Wake

The pastor explains that for years he has warned people that unless Christians in New Orleans took a strong stand against such things as local abortion clinics, the yearly Mardi Gras celebrations, and the annual event known as "Southern Decadence" -- an annual six-day "gay pride" event scheduled to be hosted by the city this week -- God's judgment would be felt.

“New Orleans now is abortion free. New Orleans now is Mardi Gras free. New Orleans now is free of Southern Decadence and the sodomites, the witchcraft workers, false religion -- it's free of all of those things now," Shanks says. "God simply, I believe, in His mercy purged all of that stuff out of there -- and now we're going to start over again."

Vegas will be fine. God hates Mardi Gras, not sexual depravity, gambling, 24/7 liquor and stretch limos full of hoochie.

It's news now because the BBC is putting it in a documentary, later this month.

Let's face it, GWB did say that he doesn't go to his earthly father for advice, he asks a "higher father". Tie that in with invading Iraq in the same conversation. Easily done.

Granted I can see why it's in the BBC documentary. But lead story for the Guardian and Independent? Why?

ooh I shouldn't think so, Vegas is a money making machine think of all those lovely taxes. GW Dickhead loves to play the God card unless it doesn't conflict with the true higher power - money and its ability to put some distance between him and poor people

Ummmm if god sent it down to New Orleans to punish folk it missed the French quarter and the t*ttie bars were the first to open again.

Wouldn't you think God would be smart enough just to lob a tornado at an abortion clinic or conjure an earthquake during a gay pride rally instead of destroying the homes and lives of hundreds of innocent people along with the people he was targeting....maybe its just me..

...or maybe these guys are nuts....
