I just found out that I won a statewide award for a website that I designed for our teachers union. Its the first one I've ever attempted, and I entered it in this competition just for some good feedback, and it won!!!
I'm just excited. NOW, if anyone knows anything about Front Page, my "remote web access" has dissapeared. Do I need to reinstall it?
Gotta clicky for this prize-winning site?
/know nothing at all about Front Page though.
//Dreamweaver's my gig - at least I don't have to code HTML by hand any more evil
Well done, Sleepyhead! Can we see?
Congratulations, Sleepyhead.
I'm sory I can't help though.

Can you elaborate? Do you edit the website directly or local on your pc and then upload the web?
Sleepyhead - I can see why you won an award - it's very clear and easy to read, no flashing lights, nothing to cause the computer to crash and not too crowded. Well done indeed. I wish our local schools would keep it simple too )

Great site, Sleepyhead.
KG, what is your school website like. Ours is the whole district, then you can go onto the the individual schools. They are in the middle of changing things over and it is great for getting information on homework assignments etc.
Congratulations - nice site.
And no I can't help you.
Ben, I'll pm you the website addresses. A couple of ours are slow-loading because theyhave a slideshow on the home page - which is a pain when I want to get on there or some quick info at the beginning of the day.
What is remote web access? The website accessing a database remotely or just you editing the website remotely from a different PC to normal?
Bit confused by what you mean there.
I use Microsoft Front Page. Its very easy to use. I design the web on my laptop, and then upload it to the site. But to design it you have to click something called "remote web access". Never had a problem before, but now I can't do anything ( We have a guy who (gets paid btw) to help set things up and keep things running smoothly, but he's either dead, or ignoring my pleas for help. mad
Anyway, I can't update anything until this stupid problem is fixed. grrrrr.
Thanks for the compliments! grin

And where is this button? Is it in FP or via some admin tool web page? Normally, you upload it by publishing the website.. and FP will ask you for the url.. and prompt you for the username and password.
Never heard of that clickable in Frontpage.
I'd do it the way USDeeper says - Open an existing web, edit the pages and then publish it to the URL. Once you've done this once, it allows you to save the URL, login name and password and does not need them entered again.
What version of Frontpage are you using?
Congrats, Sleepyhead! Well done! grin
