I used to love these as a kid especially as fish finger sandwiches with oozings of butter.
Oh how I miss fish fingers, fish sticks are no comparison. I used to love to mash them up with malt vinegar and ketchup and slather it onto buttered bread. cry
Happy birthday to fish fingers!
When I was a kid my Mum used to make me plaice breaded in Paxo.
I can get neither plaice nor Paxo here.
I think I read somewhere that Paxo is an e-number additive horror story - but I don't care, I loved it's crunchy, orange luminosity.
I loved fish fingers but only got them at school. We were family friends with the guy who owned the fish shop, mum did catering, I had to go to school for what was considered "modern food." sad
I don't miss fish fingers at all. I quite liked fish cakes though.
Bonkers I say.........fish fingers are the bees knees. Love em to bits, birds eye and all that, with a bit of oven chips ( not fries ). The ones you get here, don't compare at all
love 'em, love 'em. With chips and baked beans or mushy peas..Ooooerrr I think I 'm coming over all wobbly!!
Damn right.....as a matter of fact, I think am going to pop into my favourite place in Toronto, during lunch break, and have some wink
I used to love fish fingers, but then i moved into a house that was always downwind of the birdseye factory on lowestofts north beach. Everything used to smell of cooking oil. Sometimes the wind blew out to sea, mostly not. when I would hang the washing out it made my pants smell of breaded fish fingers/cakes/fillets etc.. and I'm not talking about my trousers neither.. Hooray for processed food! Actually have had Fish fingers here, so I guess that makes me a complete hypocrite, 50 years old, Crikey!

The battered fish you get here has been frozen and the fish dead long before packages processed food was every invented . no taste at all .
I only eat fresh fish and thats questionable sometimes .
I Remember when i first arrived here and my american friends knew i loved fish and chips .
they thought they where being hospitable and took me to *arther treathers * i was nearly sick and have never been inside one since, that was 28 years ago are they still around ???
They have to be better than Long John Silver's.
/nasty nasty crap soaked in grease
//the missus thought it would be a nice treat and I didn't have the heart to tell her it sucked

No wonder they taste so bad....

yup, can't beat a nice fish finger sandwich.
It's just so hard to get them to let go of those little fingers, so, I opt for veggie fingers instead. They scream silently.
