Scottish Tablet was mentioned and described elsewhere but it sounded like something I have eaten, but with a different name

They can't make up their minds. The second one has three types of units.

Never mind the number of units - the second one only serves 2 people! What the heck's that about? Naw, that's no good. I'd guzzle the second person's portion too!

There are a multitude of recipes for Tablet. Most of them have the same basic ingredients (some omit vanilla, which I consider a necessity) and the majority of them have been 'customized' according to the cook's/confectioner's personal taste.

My Grandma used to make the best tablet ever, however when my mum used the same recipe the texture was nothing like Grandma's - and you need that 'gritty, yet melt-in-the-mouth' texture, or it's just not tablet, IMHO. 8)

The first recipe appeals to me. As I've gobbled all the tablet my friend brought over, I'll need to try it and see.

When I was a child in Kent we had Scottish neighbours. Mrs P used to make tablet and we loved it! It was, I remember somewhat smoother than fudge but very hard and definitely melted in the mouth.... mmmmmm........
