So apparently there aren't going to be any gadgets in the next Bond movie, and no Q either. And Bond will be 28.

I didn't like the last Bond movie - way too much gorgonzola for my liking - but Brosnan was very good. A 28 year old Bond will be annoying. Won't the movie be more XXX than Bond? And John Cleese was doing very well in my opinion - couldn't they write him in somehow. I know the writer wants to be loyal to the book, but for Bond fans surely having Dame Judi Dench and John Cleese remain would be some sort of consistency. Casino Royale is a good book, but I I get this horrible feeling that Bond is about to become really really naff.
There hasn't been a good one since Connery.
If there's no gadgets and no Q, it's not a Bond movie, just a spy movie with a character of the same name.
And I thought this was a Spike Milligan related thread sad

The Bond movies sucked after Goldeneye. My favourite Bond is Tim Dalton - closest to the books in personality.

No, I am a complete freak for James Bond and have a complete set of all the books. The books are dark, vicious, violent and very much a product of the Cold War.
