In as much as its nice to see an article about british food that wasn't saying how terrible it is. Maybe its the time i've spent here, hearing the weird things people think about what we eat and how we prepare it etc.. I love cooking, i think british food is great and vastly underated, and the culture of food in GB is so diversified these days that its hard to go wrong, whatever corner of that island you happen to find yourself in. grin

Got me all nostalgic it has, I could handle leaving some overcooked roast beef and soggy cabbage on the plate, just for old time sake. And it's all gone cry

Well, granted, perhaps a little overstated, but true never the less. Your "beef" is with preparation not the quality of food. and yes, preparation and presentation are the weakest links so to speak.

I do like the idea of more regional cheeses than France and I'm prepared to sample them all, the French ones as well.
