There have been a lot of article and demos on this, and I have been running the beta version of vista for a while now, on one of my test laptops. Microsoft are saying this is going to be hard to crack and all that, but they said that about windows xp.
The new office looks good with some of the new added features on it. Any thoughts on the whole microsoft operating system thing?
Mostly crap - always playing catchup with Apple's OS X.
I'll still run it on most of my machines, like everyone else though.
Open-Source and / or Linux is the way to go.

Yup. We have departments that are churning out Open Source stuff and I like what they have produced so far, in terms of admin tools.

But most people don't even know how to run that. I usually tell people to try out knoppix and see where they go from there
The new office look

As far as Office goes, it is a full featured application, I just hate when it tries toguess what you are doing, I find that so annoying and ti slows me down. The operating system is just a poor design. The way the instructions are carried from the CPU to the disk is extremely ineffcient, a RISC processor is much more accomplished. OS/X or any flavor of Unix with an accomplished GUI front end is much more secure, much faster but just cannot combat 94% market share.

People don't know how to use Windoze until you show them either.
Open Source is the bomb and pretty much everything I use at home is a form of open-source.
/sticking it to the man yo

Whatever works eh
MS Office is the McDonald's of the computer world. It's not particularly good, but everyone knows their way around it.
We've just had our computers changed at work and noticed we are using Office'97, works just fine.
At least one of the lab machines is running windows 95. The Scanning Electron Microscope runs very well with a Pentium MMX processor at 233 MHZ

We had Windows 98 & 95 banned from our networks about a year ago due to security issues. I still have one or two machines that run offline and do basic tasks but everyone else is on either XP or using OS X.
Office 2004 for Macintosh is about the best flavour of Office - it's written by a different software team that Microsoft inherited from somewhere and the Windows version has yet to equal it.
Yeah.....all that is better than ME shock
A ZX Spectrum is better than bloody ME.
Your'e all mad, you should go back to using English.
