Here are some pics of the forthcoming xbox 360. They look great, and am hearing good things about it

Looks ok but I'm only going to play "Call of Duty II" on it.
I'm sticking with the PlayStation... it's backwards compatible and plays DVDs.

Plus the X-Box has a terrible controller and has like three decent games... unless you don't like the FPS games in which case there's one good game - GTA SA.
I am going to change to a PS3 when it comes out.
prices of $299 and $399 for the deluxe, it's just damn ridiculous, and we have even got to the games yet
I've actually seen some "behind-the-scenes" stuff with the 360 and it's a nice looking piece of tech, but the X-Box always falls down with the actual games. Plus the 360's supposed to be uber-hard to hack with some weird security stuff.
They say that, but am sure dvd jon from norway, won't take long to crack that

Yes, it looks very switch on and offable...

New update coming out for the 360 any day now, with some obvious but (until now) absent fixes.

So far, I'm very happy with mine and have played a lot more games than just "Call of Duty 2" which I said was all I would play on it, waaaay back last year. Actually I finished COD2 on the hardest level last weekend so probably for the best that I got into some other games like FIFA and NBA Live.

Anyway, who is thinking of getting Playstation 3?

$599 for the decent level system (the $499 option looks pants) seems a bit steep and I wasn't massively impressed with what I saw in footage from E3 this year. I thought Microsoft buggered things up last year with the 360 launch but unless Sony pull their finger out, they might really lose some unrecoverable ground.

The tilting controllers seem to be a fad and not something I would want, although I notice that a lot of folks that come round and play on my Xbox are tilting the controller when they play driving games anyway. Be interesting to see how it goes although they've taken out the rumble pack so it is lighter and the rumbling doesn't affect the tilting mechanism so I'd miss that. A lot of 360 games use the rumble feature like in NBA Live, it pulses when the clock is counting down for stuff like inbounding or getting past half-court, as well as obvious stuff like explosions and recoil in "COD2".

I'm not fussed whether it succeeds or fails - if it's that good, I'd get one later when the hype and fuss has died down. As for Nintendo, do you think they asked any English speakers about the humour in their choice of a name for their new system or is it really just going to be a load of "Wee?"
