A little birdie told me that Brown is out of a job. Fingers crossed....
A good start - now how about the idiots who appointed him?
Not out of a job(yet), but pulled from heading the disaster relief. It's been given to the vice admiral of the Coast Guard.
So it's back to horse weiners for him then...
Sideways move to control the embarrisment but hes gone just a matter of time .

The guys a bueaocrat to much dotting the eyes and crossing the tees need a little flexablility in times like this .

I'd disagree and say no, you need someone with a clue of what they are supposed to be doing. The Admiral that replaced him seems to have done a much better job in the short time he's been in charge so why wasn't he in charge to begin with?

This system of nominating people to positions that demand much responsibility has been shown up for the farce that it is.

I hope that the inevitable inquiries include nominating supporters to positions that they really have no business being in.

Edited to correct the fact that the Navy guy is just covering the New Orleans rescue I think - the new FEMA head is ex-fire department but also seems to have the background and abilities to actually deal with disasters.

So Bush says "It's my responsibility" what does that mean? should he be fired?, can he be recalled? Is there absoutely anyway whatsoever that we can get rid of this dick?
Seems he has resigned. Saves face on all sides.
No need for enquiries or defending his qualifications.
This one will be brushed under the carpet real quick.
Let's hope it's a carpet in a NO house still under flood water. evil

I think that's the chicken's way out rather than "decency"...... This way he doesn't get taken to task about it -and neither does anyone else- and no-one learns from the details of how it went wrong as they are kept hidden, so no promises that the same mistakes won't be made in the future...
