Well, being in the UK at the moment, I turned on the BBC news and hey presto, the bloody newsreader is a kid I used to go to school with (minus some hair). Bloody hell! He's also a footy commentator on BBC radio.
I was just wondering if anyone went to school or was mates with anyone who turned out to become famous? Maybe you played footy in the playground with someone who turned out to be a premier league star? Maybe you were in a school play with a famous actor!? 8)

That won't be Jonathan Pearce would it?
Yes I went to school with Michael Phelan who was a major legue soccer player and now a coach at Man Unt I believe.
I couldn't really twell you if anyone else I knew became famous as I have been gone so long from there and left when most would just have been getting out of uni.
Nobody yet. Although one bloke I went to school with is a small time actor who has been in musicals and had small TV parts although I've not seen him in any.
Paul Merson the footie player was a couple of years above me. Someone told me Clive Wood went to our school but I'm not 100% on that.

Suggs from Madness was in my sisters class in our primary school. Just in case you want to check my credentials, it was Park Walk Primary School, Chelsea, London SW10.
Go on, check up on me. T'is true... roll
Rik Mayall's sister and I were PhD students together. Never met him, though, 'cause he came off a quad bike, spent a while in a coma then recuperation then licking his wounds then we graduated.....
Oh, and I slept with John Major for a bet.

My sister's ex boyfriend went to school with Rik Mayall at Droitwich back a few years ago. He was a nutter then apparently. Mayall later went to a rather posh private school, Kings School at Worcester.
I was friends with Corrie (its actually Coriona) Corfield at school. For those of you who won't have heard of her, she reads the news on radio 4.
Good friends with Roland Orzabel and Curt Smith and also Andrew Masden, Steve Buck (his dad was teacher at the same school) and John Baker who were originally Graduate and would become TFF.
Also John Hall (of England rugby fame) and of course myself...
HAHA! Oh I kill myself every time....
Dave Tomblin was in my class at Hillside School Borehamwood.
Left school the same year as me at the age of 14 and went into the local film studios.

Just for a challenge, I tried. The School exists. I never heard of Suggs, but I found a Graham "Suggs" Mcpherson Born 1961. So, if it is just a primary school, he should have finished about 1968, but in case it was both primary and junior I checked till '72 but couldn't find his name.
Kings road was an old stomping ground. My junior school was in Notting Hill, and my secondary school was loosely known as "wonky kids college for spivs" much to the annoyance of the staff. The W and the K stood for West Kensington, outside our borstal boy style of thinking.
If any of my school mates became well known I would assume it was for an appearance at the Old Bailey.
Fuzzbox (We've Got a Fuzzbox and We're Gonna Use It) attended a few of our parties when we were still at Uni and they were in the charts (Pink Sunshine, International Resue....do I really want to admit to this? shock lol). And Fuzz of PWEI is/was a close friend of one of my exes, lived upstairs and regularly interupted our sleep 'cause he'd locked himself out and needed a leg up to the window.
Do I get the prize for the most tenuous brushes with the almost rich and famous? lol And knowing a lot of almost celebs with Fuzz in their names?

I went to my Italian conversation class last night and spoke with a woman who shagged Billy Idol and many others punk rock stars back in the 70's. That's even more tenuous surely?
My sister seems to be the one who attacts the "somewhat famous". The best I can come up with personally is Dominic Monaghan - he is getting more famous by the minute now that he is in "Lost". I was his teacher for two of his junior school years (1985-87) and I worked with his dad. I got an email from him just before the first Lord of the Rings movie came out, but I guess he stopped using his "dominicmonaghan@hotmail.com" address after that roll
