I thought it might be a good idea to let you guys know about Podcasting, or more to the point, British Podcasting. A podcast is simply a downloadable mp3 file that can play on a computer or any mp3 player.

There are a growing number of people here in the Uk who produce 'Shows' which cover subjects as diverse as music, food, politics and entertainment, theres even one on knitting of all things. most shows are around 30 minutes long. and free!

Now I'm bound to blow my own trumpet of course, The RVRS http://www.vobes.com is a daily magazine type audio show, we cover food, sound seeing tours, Beer friday, The Thursday debate and much more, in fact we've won an award just recently out of 5000 American podcasts little old us came first!

Our sound seeing tours at present bring you a taste of Sussex here on the south coast with things like windmill tour, tank driving, PYO fruit farm, narrow boat and much more.

Our web site offers 10 to 15 minutes samples of our daily shows each day and membership is just $20 per year, we have over 800 listeners and many are expats hence the idea to post here.

We are of course not the only Uk podcasters but we're the only daily award winning ones! feel free to check us put, post on our forum. any probs contact myself halfajob@ntlworld.com or the boss himself Richard@vobes.com

Thanks for taking the time to read.

What a great first post eh wink Don't forget to introduce yourself, and yes podcasting rocks have heard, if you have an iPod, which almost everyone has here, except me, despite being a gadget guy.

Seems like almost everyone and their dog had one, when we was in London uk recently, the shop on regent street was packed.
Hey, thanks for the comment, yes it's me Jimmy again.

I should make it clear that ANY mp3 player will work, you don't have to splash out over £100 plus for an ipod, a £18.00 mp3 works exactly the same.
