The population of Britain, excluding Northern Ireland, rose by 2.2m in the 10 years to 2001 - an increase of 4%. Just over half of that rise, some 1.14m people, comprises people born abroad. In total, some 4.3m people born abroad live in Britain, many of them now being British citizens.

Strip down the Caribbean into multiple nations and the US is 5th in the list. A big surprise. I know there's a lot of septics over there, but I had never imagined that many.

I wonder how many British born people are in the US?

No Australians, French or Spanish - there is something funny with these numbers or missed out West London

West London is a free and sovereign nation, no way they should be included in the Brit numbers.
