As I was getting myself even more pissed off about the Katrina situation, the JCPenney back to school commercial came on- diverted my anger to annoyed.
The song and the kids dancing just grates my nerves!

In the UK, its the constant stream of furniture adverts. Is there ever NOT a sale on? I know DFS, but whats the one that has "Steve" from Eastenders? Sad that his carreer has come to selling sofas.

What commercials/adverts drive you bonkers?
Right now it's them advertising the new season of "Survivor" right after the news.....

oh noooo....

There are so many to think of - but in my top ten...

Burger King.

Their current ones with that mad heavy metal band dressed in pagan masks or whatever they are is pretty bad - advertising those un-appetizing-looking chicken sticks.

BUT - personally I will NEVER forgive them for giving the nation the "Demonic Crown-Wearing King From Hell"!! Ye-es - I'm talking about that effigy of horror - that plastic-mask wearing chainsaw-massacre-type character that they created not that long ago. OMG that thing was AWFUL!!!!

On a lighter (and much deserved) note - did anybody see the showdown on the Leno show between the Burger King Demon and Darth Vadar??? It was so funny it had me and hubby in stitches!!!! They were like having a stare-off and just breathing really heavily behind their masks - LMAO!!!! Also - we were glad that we weren't the only ones having nightmares about that plastic, crowned face appearing outside OUR bedroom window.........

KR
The BP oil ads - with the people saying what the oil companies should and shouldn't be doing - drive me nuts - they are way too contrived.
The MacDonalds coffee ad on the radio, with Bob and his office coffee

"That's not good"

ugh.
must admit I don't really watch tv anymore apart from HBO so I don't see many ads, but the on that used to really get my goat was the one with "Bob, who has a happy wife in the clubhouse" now he is taking the latest Erectile Dysfunction medicine, jesus those ads get on my tits.
"Hi I'm Dr Greg Cynamoan, it's not your fault you're fat. it's Cortisol.........."

"Hi Billy Mays here"

piss off.

I generally don't move too quickly these days, but you should see me if I hear Billy Mays...Greased lightning aint nowhere.

The absolute worse tv ad in my mind, is the De Beers "I love this man, I love this man" one. Good lord.
Anything Old Navy.
Anything that rips off Old Navy
The snoop dogg, and the old white guy one for chrysler, with a lingo that doesn't make sense

I'll take it you are down with that then, dropping it like it was hot?

Anything with Billy ****ing Mays. I wouldn't make water on him if he was on fire.

That ****ing Invent-Tech advert. "Clap on, clap off - I thought of that!" No, you didn't.

The dancing Ronald McDonald commercial on Nick.
