I know it will depend on amount/weight'/size of what we ship but can anyone give me an idea of what they paid to ship out their belongings to the US?

Would like to know "estimate" of cost based on full house of stuff, half of house (a bed, kids furniture & clothes etc) or just clotes etc.

I know it will not be accurate but would like to know roughly how much evryone else paid to give an idea of what the costs might be.

Also any idea how much does it cost to kit out an unfurnished 3/4 bed house in NY suburbs? Clearly depends on a lot of things but would be interee=sted in others experiences. Anyone rent furniture for instance as would like to know if that is a worthwhile option.

I think we shelled out about 300-400 pounds to send 3 tea chests from London to NY.

A budget of $2,500 was allocated for all the basics to furnish our 1 bed flat - bed/sofa/tv/table and chairs. (apprx 18 months ago)

We did not spend our 'budget' as this was from my company and we bought a lot a second hand furniture and got given stuff - if you take a little time when you coem over - there are many bargains and cheap ways to furnishe your home (e.g yard sales etc)
