As if anyone would believe this? But they do! A workmate of mine sent it to me as an email - something he does often. You know the type - a guy at work who emails racist jokes, pleas to boycott celebrities movies for their unpatriotic comments, derogatory remarks about foreigners, that sort of thing.
"China to invade USA within the decade, using biological weapons to kill "hundreds of millions".
http//www.theepochtimes.com/news/5-8-8/31055.html
I like the beginning where the Minster of Defense and vice-chairman of China’s Central Military Commission says "In answering the question, “Will you shoot at women, children and prisoners of war,” more than 80 percent of the respondents answered in the affirmative, exceeding by far our expectations [1]." And I like that on Fark the "story" is given further weight by stating the minister was fired for revealing China's secret war! Gasp!!
The Chinese are more clever than that, am sure they have other things to worry about, than go after the US. The US is the only country that gets a kick out of that, no one seems to taking notice of the woman camping outside bush's ranch asking for the troops to be brought back home.
They don't even need to invade militarily - they are already here economically, as investors, trade partners, copright infringers and the holders of many US Treasury Bonds.
If they really want to get at America, they'll simply buy up all the oil and call in some loans.
They could put us introuble by offering to sell the treasuries instead of buying new ones.
Well.....in the news today, China just offered a trade worth 4.8 billion dollars to a London and Canadian listed company, rather than to the US, and the US is pissed over that.
closed door policy
Didn't they try to buy unocal oil refinery and get blocked. It sounded, I heard clips of our right wing radio freaks on the beeb, as though we were back in the 50's. people talking about the yellow peril.
Honest to gods, sometimes you just have to wonder about America.
I still like the one where they tried to limit the amount of cotton knickers being imported for sale here. The size of most American women one wonders who was buying them. lol
// The cotton knickers one, was hilarious.
I see the article is from the ''The Epoch Times" which is closely linked to the Falun Gong movement. I'm intrigued by the FG - which seems to be a big yoga club intent on bring the downfall of the Peoples Republic of China.
I recently downloaded 'the nine commentaries on the Chinese Communist Party' to see what it was all about (have you seen the ads?).
China will be on a economic par with the US, according to Business Week in the next forty years. It's still a nasty dictatorships - but now they have money and western technology. They don't have any oil though. If the US invades Iraq to secure oilfields - China is perfectly capable of doing the same in Russia. Don't see much point in invading the US though...

We have the falun Gong handbooks. We were intrigued. There is as you say a power base, but basically it seems bent upon every individual being allowed to cause their own healing.
ie. it's not big on drugs, drug companies or even traditional TCM. So it's odd stuff but fascinating in its presentation. I guess consumerism is an alien concept.
Much like the early Mao books were. Still have mine with it's bright red plastic cover.
(at least i think i still have it, will go check. Small books, like Mahareshi's book are always being nicked.)
I still have my Dad's Union-issued 1966 copy of Mao's Little Red Book (the one with the plastic cover). Funny stuff to read. Half of it makes sense, the other half contradicts itself.
