Hi

We are considering a move to North Carloina, about 20 miles south of Wilmington, along the coast. The move will be for two years. We know absolutely nothing about the area except that it is about 30 miles north of Myrtle Beach which we have been told is not necessarily a good thing! We do not need to consider schools and work is part of the package, but are still very wary about moving to an unknown area. Any advice welcome!

Thanks

Rosie
Go for it, 2 yrs is nothing.
Where are you moving from?
What kind of work.

Welcome btw.
Hi

Engineering work for my husband, I shall be a lady of leisure initially anyway! We are moving from Southern Ireland.

Welcome. My wife has family members in South Carolina, not far from Charlotte NC. Generally speaking, it's a pretty and pleasant area although I don't know about the specific area you're going to.
Southern Ireland? Anywhere in particular? One of my best and oldestfriends here is from Dun Laoghaire.
Haha, you will soon get tired of the lady of leisure bit, especially if you don't have kids to take care of.
Here's a site that will tell you lots about the area if you haven't already checked it out.

Thanks, the site is very helpful. Yes, I have visited Dun L. but I live in the midlands about 60 miles west of Dublin.
