Just checked on the USCIS website on the status of our 485 and it says they were approved yesterday (apart from Son's) and new cards would be sent out. We had our fingerprints done about 4 weeks ago so I am assuming that was the biometrics part of the process.
Son apparently has been referred for an interview.
So does this mean we once we have the cards we just have to have a stamp put into our passports?
Are you doing an AOS, KL? If so, you will receive your approval notices through the mail which will tell you to make an appointment. You can do this online and is very quick and simple. You go along for your appointment with all appropriate documents including any AP's you are in possession of, and your EAD's. We had all ours taken off us, but I have heard that some people don't, so it is better to take everything just incase. Obviously you will need your passports so they can be stamped. You will also have your thumb print taken again. then you just wait for your cards to come through. Ours took 3 weeks after we went for our stamps so it is pretty quick.
We still don't have our son's sorted yet either. He had to go for fingerprints too but after hubby and I went for ours. It has held his up for quite a while. I think it's been nearly 6 months now since we were all sorted, so don't be surprised if it takes quite a while.
and congratulations by the way. )
Well, I got my approval notice in the post at the weekend and Alan got the notice he had been referred for an interview. No Notices for anyone else. Today, all of us bar Alan got our cards. Just checked my approval notice, doesn't say anything about making appointments. ???
Cards are pretty fancy though.
