Saw a message on NWI (DirecTV channel 366) last night that they are ceasing operations.
The channel is being replaced from August 1st by Current.TV which looks like a cool project but unfortunately they will probably not be showing the foreign news programming like ITV News, CBC's The National, and so on.
Time to write to CNN and other news channels to get them to fill the hole.

I had been waiting for this, I think it was Lee that mentioned a few weeks ago that this was going to happen. That is a real pain, its the best news channel we can get. Not just because of the ITV news but also the European news, Japenese news (my other half likes to follow the Sumo wrestling news!) and also theyshow mimi documentaries on numerous interesting subjects. It will be a hard act to follow :evil:
I'm always disappointed in Japanese news. They never show monsters invading, flying saucer attacks or giant robots fighting.

Well its been almost a week now and we still cant find a news channel we like. I didnt realise how often we watched Newsworld International. We are having withdrawal symptoms roll
We're on Dish and get European Journal which is good about Europe and the rest of the world, but not a bit like news here, when it says Journal in depth, it is. That's the nearest we get save the BBC news on PBS and BBC America, which is so full of repeats we hardly watch it.
I've been hoping CNN would bring back their relay channel of Brit news channels, but their new boss seems to be of the old Only America matters breed. evil evil
There's always C-Span for PM Question time...
