I knwo someone asked a while ago (must be a yeaer or so) but who here still eats a good sunday dinner? I'm talking roast and gravy here. If I remember right Dr M. still does as often as possible (maybe I'm remembering wrong?)

Forgive me for asking but i'm absolutely starving and chicken, roast spuds, peas, carrots, stuffing and gravy came to mind.
I do try to, but my eating routine has totally been screwed up since I came here. There seems to be no order to my daytime grazing nowadays. It seems like I don't really have any set time to eat anymore and I snack most of the time. Lunch and Dinner seem to been an optional thing now. Is it just my wifes family, or is that a more general pattern across the US?

In England, I had breakfast at 8am, lunch at noon, dinner at 5pm as routine.
I think you might be on to something there. I haven't had a set time for eating here at all.
As for the roast dinner, Michelle seems to have Americanized it by having Ketchup on everything instead of gravy. shock lol Ever tried roast potatoes or Yorkshire pudding with ketchup smothered over it? 8)
We eat a roast usually on sundays using the left overs for lunch on mondays .

gravy ,peas or carrots usually accompany it and the oblicatory baked potatoes .
I havent had a good sunday dinner in ages neutral
When my mum calls me she usually tells me what they had for their Sunday dinner. There's nothing like rubbing it in I suppose? wink (err not the dinner by the way wink )
We don't generaly during the summer but for the rest of the year we do about once or twice a week. It's the best thing to make when you have a large family and you can pretty much guarantee the children will eat it all. It is also one of the easiest things to make when you are jumping in and out of the house with car pooling but know you will all be home for dinner at the same time. ) During the summer, though, we rarely get to eat as a whole family now the children are older. And the weather is just too hot for a regular sunday roast )
roll Again Guilty. I used to eat regular. But when I started my previous professions in the UK. That all went out the window and now I am here it really is lol. tend to eat when I am hungry now lol.

But i do try to get a family meal, where we all sit down together at least once a week.
I miss roast dinner and I am a vegetarian!

I loved the Yorkshire puds, peas, carrots, roast spuds, parsnips, sweetcorn and gravy.

I made YP for the in-laws when we went over for Sunday dinner last time, took some Oxo with me. The oil from the YP dribbled onto the floor of the oven though and it caught on fire on Friday night when they used it again!

Sunday dinner over here is more likely to include Boston style baked beans and potato salad than gravy. Sad.
I like boston beans and potato salad.

/prefers a lot of Murrikan cuisine

Same here. I tend to make do with Quorn or Morning Star 'Chicken' patties.

Pah! I hate Morning Star 'chicken'. It is nasty.

First pay cheque I am going to order a box of Quorn from the local health food shop.

I think its OK. Not great, but not too bad. OK. How about the 'bacon'? I don't think the MS breakfast links are bad either.

Quorn somehow seems to taste different over here. In general, the veggie food doesn't seem as good here. I still get my Mum to send Beanfeasts over.

I don't mind the 'chicken' either and I like the bacon. I miss the quorn you could roast (it was like a very big sausage). I liked it in sandwiches the next day. I can only find the very plain fillets around here
