How come when 40 odd people die in France during the summer it is a tragic indictment of socialised medicine.

Yet when 20 people die in Arizona it's just a heatwave?
I guess it depends on which newspaper you read or which TV station you watch.

I was just thinking the very same thing.

roll just so the french can blame all the global warming on USA lol
I'd say it's an indictment of both the US and French systems. In France hundreds died because hospitals were shut for the summer. In ths US tens (probably hundreds) die because they can't afford to go.
