Apart from JohnA and the occasionally quip by the odd transitory poster, all the right wingers have gone away to right-wing land. The exception is Bungle, who has obviously seen the bankruptcy of such a brittle ideology and seems more ciritcal these days.

But the others, Iain, HU, Britarm and Elaine etc, have they gone the way of the rest of their blinkered ilk and found forums of where their views are simply affirmed and critical debate is has turned into a wankfest?

I miss the their knee jerk MDF responses, it was always good to see how the in the face of reality they clung so tightly to their ideological lottery tickets

I was more interested about the other posters, and how the discussions about our underlying assumptions of social and political phenomena seem to be in general agreement.

I can represent the right wing on 2nd Ammendment stuff but that's about the limit.

Fiscal stingyness and generally dumping on the rest of the populace isn't something that comes naturally.

Whether one self-identifies themselves with a particular political position or not, I now realize how offensive it must be to be associated with right-wing conservatism.

I am not political at all , some of my views are left others are right. I look at issues not parties because each party will use one particular issue to suit their camp.


I am not someone that will vote one way or the other, just because my dad done it etc and that party can never be wrong no matter what.

I am very skeptical of anyone running for office as i feel its more about them than the folks.

My dearly beloved has called me a right little facist at times. It usually follows child abuse cases where I state the obvious, string him up by the goolies.

I have to say, I have no idea why anyone would take offense at such a comment. Explaining the bits that they maybe that way inclined or not makes more sense.

For me, I was definitely more into conservatives when living in the UK. Although I may have kept some of those views, I have found that living over here has made me go more the other way. I don't know if it is the fact that I am getting older or the capitalistic mindset that does it. It could be both.

You comment on political issues a lot, that makes you political by definition, just because you aren't consistent with your viewpoints, without a philo-political lens, you wouldn't be able to understand the issues

Its like my students, I can't seem to get them to understand that teaching is a political act, by choosing to teach, in a particular cultural environment, you are either reaffirming that culture or rejecting, both of which are political acts.
