I was listening to the radio early this morning when the news broke of explosions in London. CNN are reporting that there 7 explosions, some explosions were on buses and some explosions were on the underground.
Scotland Yard has said there were 'terrible injuries' but Sky News have got eyewitnesses who are saying that are many fatalities on the underground. The Home Secretary has just said in a statement that the attacks were possibly 'co-ordinated' .
I see one picture of a bus and it was ripped apart.
After all the joy of yesterday its such a desperately bad thing to happen.
This is horrible. And I'm not sure at all what's going on - none of the news is anywhere near similar so getting the facts is hard. It's been so long since an IRA bombing, and this seems much bigger. I'm in shock to be honest.
I was in shock at first, now I'm just feeling angry
I'm trying to listen to BBC radio online and it just isnt having it. I dont know whether it's because of the demand or that its this lousy computer
a bad workman always blames his tools they say roll
Tony Blair is to address the nation very shortly
the canadians are reporting at least 2 deaths and that the israeli embassy was warned of the possible terrorist activity moments before the blasts
I just heard the news and immediately called my family to see if everyone was okay. My nan lives on the Kings Road in Chelsea, and said that there are sirens flying pass her flat like crazy. I have tried to call some friends who work in the West End (one in Russell Square) but their phones are either not answering or there is no connection.
It makes me feel sick. Reminded me of the IRA bombs we were growing up around. evil I remember having to get off the bus or tube many times as a kid because of a "bomb threat". It didn't seem to be a big deal then, but this looks to be bigger than that. I am praying for the victims and their families. That is all we can do right now.
Blair just gave the press a quick statement, he looked visibly shaken and very pale. The G8 talks are still going ahead and Blair is going to leave early to go to London.
Incidentally,
The phone lines are down in the London area and whatever lines are open is congested so if you do have to phone home you might not be able to get through.
It's my sisters birthday....I won't bother trying to call then
Wankers trying to jeopardize the celebrations and good news from yesterday roll London is going to rise above all this, as always. Just hope when the plonkers are caught, they are made to pay severely for this roll
One obvious thing has happened. An islamic website has claimed responsibility for the explosions. There's probably a few sites who'll be claiming responsibility.
Scotland Yard is now saying the were 4 blasts. One on a bus and 3 on the underground
Horrible news to wake up to. I managed to get through to relatives by phone without problem. I have 2 brothers in law who work in the city - both are OK, just stuck in their office buildings for now. I'm sure the casualtiies will be far greater than we're hearing right now sad
The casualties are set to get worse
CNN are just reporting at least 10 dead at King's Cross
Casualty reports so far seem to be way off. People who were at the scenes are reporting numerous fatalities.
sad
Just managed to get hold of my mum as my brother works in the city. Thank fully his okay. What I don't understand was how did this happen? Isn't the security meant to be tightened, what with the G8 summit and everything?
Zoe
I'm listening to capital Radio and theyre getting info from various hospitals that there is over 150 injured and at least 20 dead
And you'll be 'pleased' to know that the al queda affiliated website is claiming the people of 'London is now scared and is living in fear'
They dont know people from our country to well do they?
