Ok so this is annoying. A conservative group has bought airtime on my favorite music radio station (99.5 by the way) in my area to "combat the ACLU and the liberals" on the Supreme Court nominee. I just had to endure 30 minutes of "you know, O'Connor was quite the liberal so we need a conservative to level things up."

And if that wasn't enough, they have paid for a following show called "A Coversation With God." A sample of the bilge I've heard so far is "should we as kquestions of God? Will God strike you with a cosmic lightning bolt if you question him? Of course not."

you're not alone having shite on your local radio station.
The AM wing of the station I work part time for has
12-3 Rush Limbaugh
3-5 Twat O'Reilly
5-8 Dave ramsey (good guy, yet still christian based)
8-11 Laura (ann coulter wannabe) Ingram

I almost didn't make it through his first book with all the god talk and whatnot, but the second one was better about that and it's all good common sense stuff.

Yeah. Wasn't he trying to promote it around the time of the phone sex/loofah mess?

Out of curiosity I just looked to see which station it was that you were listening to and they were doing bible trivia and giving prizes away for correct bible quotes???
That was enough for me...
What on earth are you listening to Bungle??
I do listen at night a lot of times to WBEN in Buffalo but of a daytime its just a really dodgy right wing mouthpiece with Rush 'hypocrit' Limbaugh and co. I think Lord Haw Haw and Tokyo Rose did the afternoon show

Where did he find the time?

I normally listen to NPR, but when I need music I go for Canadian stations or 107.7 because it's like Virgin Radio when it started. But 99.5 was a similar station. now...it's mental. WBEN is alright - Sandy Beach is funny when he isn;t doing politics.
The college radio station (KBVR-FM, 88.7 FM) I work for sometimes goes off the air when there are no DJs around, like in the summer. Last summer this wasn't a problem as we had just installed a $40,000 automation system but this was sent back under warranty a few months back and we are between systems at the moment.

When this happens, a local Christian station uses our frequency to broadcast on - totally illegal but they don't seem to care.

The sickener though is when our DJ's return in September and then we get calls in from old biddies, complaining because they can't get their Christian music any more. evil
