Well, I've finally had a scare that had made me decide to switch over the message boards to the phpBB Fully Modded version that has been in test.
The reason you've not seen me around for ages is that I've been trying to track down security issues and just got so tired of it that I'm going to retire the phpBB2Plus that we're currently running...
...tonight!
Yup, I've spent the last 3 days and nights writing and testing code to move over all the current data so that nothing will be lost, hopefully.
All your posts, votes, albums, private messages etc will be moved over and available. There will also be additional features that, rather than flooding everyone with, I'll turn on slowly as we get used to the new board.
I will load up on 'themes' so you can choose the layout you like. I will not be able to create any new ones, but would be happy to give guidelines to anyone who wishes to create a theme.
There are a few data issues that I will need to iron out between now and then and do some testing - but basically this will happen.
1) I'll announce one hour prior to turning off the current system
2) The message board system will be shutdown - you will not be able o read or send posts etc.
3) Within an hour, the message board will be back up with the new layout.
4) You can let me know if there are any problems.
If you have questions in the meantime, post in the Banter forum and I'll answer your questions.
