No doubt this question has been asked well before now but I really don't have the time to do a search and I know someone here will know the answer....

...And my question is Will US DVD's play on UK DVD players?

You're probably all saying 'where's she been?' wink but I haven't been paying attention, I guess. wink

Would like to buy my Mum the just released Betty Davis/ Joan Crawford dvd movie collection but it's no good if they won't play on her dvd machine.

Thanks!
Your ma will have to buy a multi-regional player from places like richer sounds in the uk, or any computer fair that they hold there on weekends. Index and argos use to sell vhs players that played ud videos, but I don't know if they sell dvd players that do that.
...or enter a "hack" to make it multiregional. Sometimes it's as simple as a few buttons on the remote, like a cheat code on a game.
A lot of cheap Chinese DVD players are actually multi-region. How do I know? We just bought one for $CAN35.00 - Yes that's right - thirty-five!!

The brand name was Nova.
Since your ma is in the uk, and you are sending them the dvd, just get her to get someone that is technically inclined or your brothers or something to pick one up. If they are in london, tell them to pop down to tottenham court road.

UK is region 2, US is region 1.
They will probably play on a cheap DVD player. We got a multi-region from Amazon for £29.
Great! We should be able to work summat out then, Thanks!
