I didn't, having a natural aversion to the man's inability to speak American, let alone English, so, if anyone did, could you tell me what he said, or should that be what he meant? D

Thankyou in anticipation D
blah blah blah 9-11 blah blah terrorists blah blah iraq blah blah advancing freedom blah blah suffering is real blah blah blah it is worth it blah blah blah
Anyone notice that he had an inane grin even when he was saying the most disturbing things, almost like he was making light of the things he was saying.

'The terrorist will resort to the most disgraceful means' *inane grin and glance at camera*

'Their ideology of terror and violence is unceasing' *inane grin and glance at camera*

I read this response chuckling, and it reminded me of what I saw on the directors cut of "911 - In Plane Site" (an independent film about 911). They show footage of The Pentagon with absolutely zero plane debris, NONE! The discrepencies that people had with the airplanes that hit the WTC (different eye witnesses) that the news didn't show. It even shows a Fox reporters interview - he claimed the plane had no windows and therefore was not a commercial jet. Numerous witnesses said the same thing.

Now to why I was chuckling. At the end, they show about 50 different cuts all one right after the other of different Republicans at the Republican National Convention saying "TERRORISTS" .... SADDAM" .... "WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION" ... "WE ARE NOT SAFE" .... over and over and over and over again. It is very funny!

Bottom line - they are selling something that they created. Fear sells!

It's his "this is what I done good" smile. It's the only thing he *thinks* he has done right in these 4.5 years.

And no I didn't watch it either. There is more funny comedy on Comedy Central.

D lol Another Dubya speech roll Did he take any questions after, starting his response with "that is a good question, am glad you asked", and then pause for half an hour? wink
I try to avoid all his speeches. We all know the crap he'll say....the same stuff as last time.....and yes, with that same disturbing grin.
I didn't listen to his speech; I assumed he would be spouting the same "War on Terror" rhetoric that has spewed from his lying gob since the US unjustly invaded Iraq. As for that insipid, smug grin - it epitomizes the imbecile he is.
I really don't know what the point of these speeches is. I really can't imagine there is anyone who doesn't have a well-defined opinion by now. mean, looking through the blogs this morning most Republican ones say it was good, most Democratic ones say it was bad. The more moderate ones say "I went out for ice cream instead....I'm sure it was thrilling..." Hell, the AP response to the speech came out yesterday afternoon about 5 hours before it even aired.

Some Cons (Hinderacker, Kondracke, Hewitt etc) said it was one of the best. Dems such as Kaus thought it was dull and "too presidential." Brendan Loy made the point "BREAKING NEWS! Terrorists hate freedom...Terrorists suck!...Tee hee, he just stuttered...Okay, I'm kind of bored now...Nukular...." which is about right. David Gergen was insulted by the 9/11-Iraq comparisons. In fact CNN's commentators thought it was just horribly rude.

Wonkette said "Look at the soldiers. Or, as they're also known, "props." 802 First mention of 9/11. Drink. 804 Second mention of 9/11. We're going to be soooo drunk. 808 We heart Fox lower thirds. Some we've seen "Bush We will take fight to the enemy." "Bush Iraq is the latest battlefield in this war." "Bush We're helping the Iraqis build a free nation." "Bush Has incredibly big penis." lol

Pascal Riche said "I didn't hear the words "weapons of mass destruction", did you?"

Todd Gitlin said "He hopes to pull off the trick of repeating the word “terrorist” so often that he can recreate the blur he induced in 2002-03, the same blur that he summoned back for the 2004 election—all of them, the terrorists, are the same."

Ed Kilgore said "it was a Greatest Hits compilation of all his past evasions of responsibility, false analogies, refusals to correct course, and cheap acts of demagoguery....his speech was, well, an insult to the American people."

Bill Kristol said "Standard fare. It's not going to change any minds. And still no admissions of errors from the White House."

Brit Hume basically got an erection and gushed how efficient the President was. Oh Brit you big softy. You must be soooo in love.

My reaction? I turned it off and did the dishes.
Did you hear his comment the other day that he thinks about Iraq "every day . . every . . . single . . . day"?

Oh, great. Glad to know it occasionally crosses his mind that he has about 150,000 troops lives on the line for his cause. I'm sure that's a great comfort as you are trying to dodge the RPG's in your pitifully amoured hummer.
How about this nice quote - "I think it's also important for the president to lay out a timetable as to how long they will be involved and when they will be withdrawn." - Governor George W. Bush, June 5, 1999

Two words:

As for his "every day I think about Iraq" comment that is just the same old theme from the 2004 debates. I can only think of the SNL spoof "it's harrrrrrrrd.... hard work...."

Boo hoo. You wanted the job. Now do it. Should be able to do 8 years work in 3, not too difficult I hope?
