Well, the ultimate plan is to develop my line of work towards European motorsports press agencies, so for me I get to do some mixing with photgraphers/editors and others from Europe where MotoGP is huge.
Reason: Our big-picture-long-term-aims are to move to Spain at some point so we can have a ranch (with horses) and so I can continue this work "over there", so this for me allows me some insight into that world as MotoGP is run similar to F1 in terms of promotion/press/media.
If you want to get a better idea of what MotoGP is you should try to get your hands on a DVD called "Faster". It's narrated by Ewan McGregor and is a pretty good documentary of what it's all about and is actually rather entertaining to.

Are you taking any photo's for a particular company or are you freelancing?
As an aside......Which photography work is proving the most lucrative/successfull/interesting.....Your Equine photography or your Motorsport photography?
Just curious/nosey)

To answer your first part : Yes I am now.
I shoot for CycleWorld Magazine, I am a freelance photographer but I shoot sports and feature shots for them and also for MCN in the UK I provide them with images of Neil Hodgson.
Lucrative? Well the equine work provides a steady income (from print sales and portrait shoots but when I sell images to the magazines for editorial then I get nice injections of cash. When I sell an image for advertising use (as I did to a well know Italian bike manufacturer) then we're doing really well ;). The CHAMP work with LAT provides another revenue source as well.
I guess my point is that it's never a good idea to do just one thing, because inevitably you have periods when things go quiet or the images may r may not be used. If there not used then you don't get any moolah.
It can be rather tenuous, but it forces you to not be lazy and always try to create new and exciting imagery.
Andrew :)
You work for yourself.....
You can do what you do in any Country in the world (specially Spain).
Plus ..... Things at this stage can only really get better, the hard part - making a name for yourself - is well on its way to being completed!
Who would have thunked it, such a long way youve come in a relatively short time.
Bravo!! )
Yes, it has been an amazing journey so far!

Hey remember the days when you were doing technical support?
and remember when you lost your job?
It seems like light years ago now?? :o
Personally, I couldnt be more happier for you and your family. Its good to see that things seem to be turning out good for you. I hope that there's more stories of other posters here who can realise more lifelong dreams. Keep up the good work mate 8)

You know dude, I do remember the old days.
In fact my last job was the best I have ever had since I left school at 16.
I do hope too that others share their successes, and I'm always available to help if others need help with ideas and coaching too.
But this is huge for me. Right now I've cleaned all the sensors in my cameras (all 4 digital SLR's), cleaned all my lenses, charged every battery, bought a couple new 4Gig CF cards and have been upping my exercise this past couple of weeks to deal with the hills at Laguna.
I'm beginning to feel like a little kid again.
Which is good, because I'm in awe of what motorcycle racers do....
I'll share some of the fwoots as I get a chance!!
Andrew :)

These bikes are so damn loud. (oh and fast...) I want more!!
