As the man who was instrumental in *talking* the Soviets into democracy and not starting WWIII, I would agree.

I guess many central americans didn't vote
Short memories then.

Dwight Eisenhower was a better pick IMHO.
Anyone who acted with a monkey gets major bonus points and no mistake.

/monkeys are cool
especially when they ride on dogs!

Abe Lincoln
Dr. King
they'd have my vote before Ronnie.
MLK would have been my vote, to be honest. But I still think on a global scale Reagan was a good winner.
Oh how we forget David Hasselhoff.

Still, Reagan seems like an odd choice considering how loathed he was by so many. Unless you go look on places like Free Republic at the frequent requests for people to plump for him. Even my local "Go Team Bush!" Talk Radio station urged people to do the same. I'm thinking the others didn't have such a well organized fan base.

I'd have to go with Benjamin Franklin myself.
North of the border when they did the same thing last year, some of the people on that list didn't even belong there. I think most people misunderstand the whole greatest stateman thing, and just start naming celebrities or whatnot.

Some of the ones here were

Avril Lavigne
Wayne Gretzski
Don Cherry
Celine Dion

Anyone come across the poll that came out recently too, listing the greatest people in the world? People like charles darwin, faraday, boyles and others weren't on the list.
MrB... Hasselhoff would have been in my top 10.
Along with Anna Nicole Smith.
