The Selective Service o

I'm impressed I had never dealt with these people before because I never needed to, so the college I am transferring to insisted I get a letter from them saying that I didn't need to register. I was expecting several rounds of getting letters back saying I needed more info/photocopies etc....added to delay upon delay.

Anyway, I filled out the form I downloaded off the internet. The instructions were not that good so I did my best, left a couple of things, left a little note on it, sent a couple of photocopies that I thought should lead the acerage person to deduce that I was too old to register.
So the form said to expect to wait 4-6 weeks for a reply....to my utter astonishment, within a week I got exactly what I wanted A letter categorically stating that I was too old to register. Easy, no hassle.

Fan-dabby-dozy
Thumbs down to the so-called intelligent people at this college for not knowing that the limit for an immigrant on Selective Service is 25 and not believing what it states clearly on the appropriate website.

Have they *never* had a foreign student over 25 years of age?
They asked me about it initially and I told them the criteria and they seemed happy. Time passed and then I get that letter. Mayeb it's just so they have an official record of it so they can't be held liable for anything. I can understand that I suppose but it does seem a little pedantic.
Probably paranoid over the fact that the Feds can withold money from educational establishments that don't play along - they threaten schools when they start blocking recruitment on campus.
soming like that, I'm sure. They just want to cover their rear ends.
