I received a can of Bisto veggie gravy granules from an American expat over in the UK, and I celebrated by making... a Canadian meal! One from Quebec for all that. Poutine.

Chips, cheese curds and gravy. I had never had it before but it is the wife's favourite treat whenever we go across to Canada. Now we have some veggie gravy and we found out Meijer carries cheese curds we can make it at home instead of driving 3 hours to get it ;o)

Great stuff.

Gotta make a roast this weekend to repent though. Using imported Bisto on a dish from Quebec? I would have been hung in the Tower for that a few centuries ago...
I've never heard of this, sounds disgusting, but I'd probably eat it for novelty value and then have to be torn away from it. All that scrummy fat. lol

I thought we were talking about the Russian president :o

Poutine is great when you are staggering home drunk and need food - just the right amount of stodge and taste. Has replaced dropping in at the 'bab shop for me since moving here! The 'babs here are far to healthy - I really miss those that I got in Holloway which looked like the meat had been out for days, was bound to give you food poisoning and made your house smell like a badger's rear end.
