Hi there
Thought it was about time I met with some fellow brits and this seems a good place to start. I am married to an American and we live on the north shore of Long Island, just recently married and not working (waiting for the old work permit)cabin fever is kicking in, therefore would like to get to know any Brits in the Long Island or NY area for chats, meet ups and a laugh. grin
Yes, I am! grin And I live on the north shore too.

I can't believe there is someone else out there from the UK.

How long have you been here and where abouts do you live?

Hi Ben thanks for the message.
I have been here for a year and live in Port washington which is a very pretty place to live and beats Bromley hands down, where are you?
I am more west of you in East Northport.

I do know Port Washington a little. Apparently there is a British shop there which sells supplies from the UK. Have you found it yet?

We have been on the Island for nearly 2 years and in the US for over 3. We lived in NJ for 18months before moving to the Island.

It is lovely here, isn't it.

Do you have any other family here, besides your hubby?
No I haven't found that shop, where abouts is it?
Unfortunately all my family are back in England but they do come out frequently so luckily I don't go too long without seeing someone from home. Plus having e-mail is great especially with the 5 hour time difference it means you can always keep in touch.
Are you married to an American too or did you both move out here?
Not only are both my husband and I British but so are all three of our children grin

We have our own little British world in our home.

I have never been to this shop myself but I understand it is down a little alley on main street.

Do you have transport while hubby is at work?

My in-laws have just gone back to the UK and our next visitors aren't until end of August.

We have a scottish family living round the corner from us here which has been a real help to me settling in.

I don't work but I am going to apply for my SS number shortly. All three kids are at school now.
