This is a very interesting interview with Jesse Larner on his new book "Moore and Us." His book is a reasoned argument for the Left to rightly attack Michael Moore for his intellectual dishonesty. Being a strong liberal himself he also adds some very useful commentary for conservatives and Republicans who do the very same for nutbars like Hannity, Limbaugh and the ever-demented Anne Coulter.

I don't think there is very much wrong in what he says.
It's a fair article, up to a point.

The Right hates Moore and the Left generally don't like him either. That's not news because Moore himself hates the Right and loathes the wimpish Democrats on the Left. He has been quoted as stating that at the end of the day, there really is only one party in this country, which is very apparent to any outsider looking in.

I agree that his documentary films can leave something to be desired but sad as it is, Michael Moore is the leading light of a small band who are not controlled by the media cabal or the government and try to draw attention to the facade that this country is built upon.

Perhaps he should go back to what he does best - short, humourous pieces that poke fun at those who believe they are above and beyond reproach. Let's have more Ken Starr 'witch hunts", complete with fainting, Salem women and less chop & changed documentaries that are all over the place for 2 hours.
Having dissected some of Michael Moore's work myself, I have to agree with almost everything this article says.

I think Moore is a good satirist. He did some interesting stuff with TV Nation (like get a bunch of multicultural singers, including New York transvestites to sing 'Stop In The Name Of Love' outside a KKK compound). There are always segments of his films that are quite biting, (such as the way the army recruits in poor areas while Congressmen's sons don't seem to want to go to Iraq for some reason).

My objections to him aren't particularly political. He just doesn't let truth get in the way of the point of view he's determined to find.

Yes - he is lacks any credibility for me. I like his movies as entertainment but I think he can't resist winding up Republicans. This makes good TV but doesn't really help any of the causes he supports much..
