I think Jennifer's article is reasonable. It would be in no one's interest to remove the President violently. She is just commenting on how the view is prevalent on college campuses, especially hers.

Shouldn't the US students get off their butts and have a proper protest (sit-ins/demos and all that stuff) and lob a few eggs at any passing republican...all these students who are ashamed of what Bush is doing to America's image are awfully quiet.

On my campus, just up the road from The Daily Emerald, the students are looking to build a memorial to veterans.
This, to me as a non-American, non-student, is all well and good except that we already have a memorial - a large, impressive building for students called the Memorial Union. True, this was built as a memorial in the late 1920's so could be argued it is only for World War I and Carribbean war dead.
However, anytime some student has put their head up to complain about it, they've pretty much been attacked, as is the norm here now.
I can sort of understand why most chose to keep their heads down at present.

There is no reason to think the anti american citizens in goergia would have shown anymore respect for kerry then they showed for bush it was anti american not a personal thing .
Assination of any president for any reason is deployable WHETHER you like it or not bush was democratically elected by the citizens of american desent and protest is always welcome in this society its part of the checks and balances ,violence however well always result is a less stable govt and more restictions on the citizens
