Anyone remember the early 90s, when Blur and Oasis went head to head, playing gigs at Knebworth and Glastonbury? I think Oasis came up trumps in that one. This year, this month to be specific to be specific, will see the release of albums by Oasis and Coldplay.

The Oasis album hits shops 2morrow, but have just finished listening to the tracks, and from Coldplays X & Y. As it stands, I'll have to give it to Coldplay. The oasis album has some new material on it, but nothing out the realm of what we know from them in the past really.

The coldplay album on the other hand, has a lot of new materials, and they deviate from the sounds of the last album, a rush of blood to the head. Look out for the following songs square one, talk, and the "woo-hoo-hoo" rhythms on x and y

Square One
What If?
White Shadows
Fix You
Talk
X&Y
Speed Of Sound
A Message
Low
Hardest Part
Swallowed In The Sea
Twisted Logic

Conclusions Colplay takes the crown. IMO anyway
I heard some of the new CP album on live bootlegs and album rips and it is pretty good so far. I hope to buy it soon. It sounds closer to Parachutes than Rush of Blood from what I have heard. Didn't hear much of the tracks you mentioned but in general I like it. It seems a happier sound. Maybe that's why they were having trouble putting an album together. Happy musicians rarely write good music.
