Just wondering if there are any other British expats out there? I have moved to Carrollton from the uk and am finding it a pretty lonely existance so far. Is there anyone else out here from the UK? If so, please do get in touch as I'd love to hear from you. I also have a daughter who spends her time glued to childrens' tv and I think it would be so much healthier for her to have other children to play with!!
Our illustrious leader, Nigel Reed, is Plano-based. Somewhat elusive and without offspring, however, but he does do a British radio show on KXEZ on Sunday Evenings. lol

Welcome to Britnet, there are a few people down that way, so stick around and you'll find them D
Hi there!

Thanks for responding and thanks for that piece of information. I'll have to tune in!

I'm glad to learn that there are a few others out there, and thanks for the welcome!

Goldie

Welcome to Britnet
Im in *gods country* too and further from you then cel is . D D
Thank you for making me chuckle! I know exactly what you mean by calling it 'gods country' - I didn't realise just how religious it is here until I arrived!!
Hi Goldie! Welcome to Britnet! D I'm no-where near you either, sorry. I'm in N. Central TN surrounded by clay-pipes, whittling sticks, rocking chairs and inbred rednecks. P
Hey Goldie. I'm in Carrollton here. I came over to the US 11 months ago and moved from the other side of Fort Worth to Carrollton at the end of July. I love the area, although as yet I don't have many friends here. Maybe we could meet up for a natter or something. smile
Hrm, dunno how I missed that.

There are British expats in Plano and Allen that I know of.

I'm in Plano so if you want to buy me a beer sometime, just let me know ;)

Regards
Nigel

Wow!! Quite a few posts since I last looked - thanks guys!!

Celticana - Welcome to Carrollton!! Yes, it is a friendly area here. It's just very quiet though and no one walks! It's like the place is evacuated; all you see are cars and cars everywhere. I'm sooo used to Europe and seeing people outside going about their daily lives!

I'd love to meet up though - it'd be great to meet another Brit to chat to.

Thanks again for all the responses!
I'm no where near you goldie but good luck with hooking up with some friends for you and your daughter, I found taking my kids to playgrounds yielded alot of new friends, although I imgine it's too darn hot over where you are to do that.
