Am sure we've all seen the show, be it the british version, or the one from the US hosted by clinton and stacey. Anyhoo...it was the asian women awards yerterday in the uk, and a few farliar faces were there, including camilla, and sven's wife

Absolutely VRB! The word is misused all the time. Asia also includes many parts of Russia.

South Asian may have been more appropriate, although it's still a pretty general term.

I noticed similar problems with the "Asian tsunami".

Asian in a British context refers to the Indian subcontinent.

Asian in a US context refers to China, Korea, 'Nam...

There are plenty of the latter in the UK, I wonder if any of them were nominated for these awards.
