here is the list from time magazine. A favourite of mine that has always been number one on most lists, is Citizen Kane 8)
Top 100 movies
Not seen "Citizen Kane" but my Apple Mac many years ago used to do a great "Rooooosebud.....!" when it had a system error and was about to die.
I'd probably pick "Schindler's List" as my favourite on that list. A bit modern still but it serves as an excellent reminder of how mad the world once was. I liked "Lawrence of Arabia" very much too, although I saw the digitally remastered version on DVD a couple of years ago so was probably a bit spoiled.
Lawrence would turn in his grave if he saw the Middle East now
(
I happen to have an old copy of lawrence of arabia on dvd too, along with ben hur, out of africa, gandhi, cleopatra et al. Elitetorrents recently put up all the old bons, and I was able to get the ones I don't have from there, the quality was perfect 8)

Those are all excellent movies. I went through a phase of catching up on classic movies a few years back and saw all of those you mention. Even watched "Gone With The Wind" and recently saw "Lost Horizon".
Some of my faves didn't make it - such as High Plains Drifter, The Great Escape, and any Sir Ben Kingsley movie i can think of.
How long before JohnA mentions "Debbie Does Dallas"?
You are welcome geezer
Thats a good list G.
Where is One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, The Graduate and yes, as Mr B said anything with Ben Kingsley (especially Sexy Beast).
