need some info please
we as a family have been looking into moving to florida on an E-2 visa and starting my own company supplying and fitting carpet in and around central florida i have been told there is pleanty of work out there
we have been bomdbarded with info from the net etc but havent found out alot of info regarding carpet supply prices fitting etc any help would be greatfull hope we can make a new life out there
First you'd better change your title from "floor layer" to something else. People in the US have flooring, carpeting, hardwoods etc "installed" not laid!
You might find that things are generally done differently - perhaps starting off with a company like Lowes or Home Depot might be helpful.
Good luck with your ventures.

You have to own/operate your own business for an E2 visa, I think. You can't come and learn the American version of the trade first.
But you can try Lowes and Home Depot for flooring prices, if that it what you meant. They are the equivalent of B&Q and Homebase.
We are currently about to decide whether or not to get Pergo flooring laid/installed. The cost for the higher quality stuff is $4 per square foot, the cost of installation is $2 per square foot plus extra charges for ripping up, levelling etc. This is through Lowes -that is their off the shelf price for the materials and they contract the installation work out to a company which I imagine is like the one you are proposing to set up. We are in an expensive part of Michigan, though.
Hope this helps, and welcome to Britnet.
