Ok, can anyone remember why we were told as children never to eat warm/hot bread? Please D
Yes.

"Because we shouldn't"

(explanations weren't necessary then, remember? lol)
But I just made a foccacia stuffed with sun dried tomatos, olives and cheese, and we couldn't wait. Will we die 'orribly? -?
I reckon the Bogey Man'll getcha!
Nobody has ever told me this. I've always liked bread from the oven with butter melting on it. I haven't died yet either.*

*As evidenced by this post.

My Mum always told us that “if you eat warm bread it will cause indigestion” but it never has

Right then, no indigestion here either, I'm gonna finish it all up, cos I was also taught not to leave anything on my plate, cept the pattern.

"Because I said so" was another one. Then eating the crusts made you grow muscles.... :o

I was told to eat the crusts to make my hair go curly. Never worked though...

Ahhh, I never thought of that! Good point.

Err, never heard that one. Surely toast is just warm bread? We were deffo encouraged to eat toast.
That doesn't count, it's been cold once.

Never 'eard of it..

I've never heard of the warm bread thing. Warm bread was always a good thing to us.

I have a book called "A Pocket Guid to Superstitions of the British Isles" - it contains a few things about bread, but nothing about not eating warm bread.
