My kid sister is moving to Melbourne at the end of the month rather abruptly. Her bloke is an Aussie and they have a kid together.
What does she need to do to get a work permit?

Appears that she can apply from within Oz.
I'm told to mention that contrary to what may have been seen on Neighbours - it does get cold and wet in Melbourne - starting around now. although its fair to say that some people's idea of cold may be a little different from mine - winter in Melbourne is bound to be warmer than Winter in New England.
However Melbourne is, I'm told, a great city.

Melbourne is a very liveable city, much more so than Sydney for a family. She will love it.
