I have been a long time fan of Oasis, ever since seeing them for the first tour and the first night in SanFrancalifrisco (and other times on subsequent visits), bought every album (even when one or two of them were somewhat suspect), and I know one shouldn't judge an album of the basis of one track, but you'd think with all the grandstanding they do that they'd finally throw out something with some clout (not meaning going back to the old crashing sounds) but maybe take a new direction perhaps.
The current single - Leyla (or whatever it is) - is simply the most uninteresting thing I have ever heard from them ever, no spark, no life, and just a bunch of rhyming words and formula guitars...
Anyone else feel a little sad how flaccid the sound has become?
Q regards...

They've been heading that way for a while, but no, I'm not sad. One of the things that made them so appealing was the freshness ....Freshness is short-lived by definition.
Haven't heard the new single yet...
but I don't have great hopes. I think they've peaked. And I'm hearing rumors that they may be playing here later in the year - that might be a show I volunteer to miss...

They are playing in Vancouver, Sept 15th I believe.
I saw Snow Patrol and Embrace last night (great gig), tonight its the Doves.
Apparently the album has leaked onto your favourite file sharing network!!!
Still, i am gonna go see them in September, though Kasabian supporting is a big draw as well. Last time i saw them was at Knebworth - which makes me feel old.
No, they were always shite wink
Well the Doves cancelled. evil
Anyone seen Athlete live? They are playing in Portland next month.
Hmmmm.....Oasis again, how long before Liam starts spitting at people from the stage? They are going to be playing in Toronto, and might just go see them if am less busy.
Rollingstones on the other hand are playing a few cities here in canada, and to be honest with ya, can't be arsed. It seems they need the money to pay off their alimonies and stuff like that.
