I thought the last (newest...err...?) Star Wars movies were very dull. But I came across this review of the new (old.....er..no..oh God I'm confused) Star Wars done by Kevin Smith and he is drooling all over it.

You might want to point out its a spoiler....
well Kevin Smith is a self confessed Star Wars fan anyway...
You could have Ryan Seacrest as Chewbacca's father and he'd still like it!! wink

Nah Smith thought the last two were crap so I'm taking this as a good sign.

I haven't read it but "spoiler" is an odd concept for a movie where there have already been three movies based on the outcome of this one. :)

My tenuous Star Wars connections:

1. A school friend of mine does the voice for one of the Federation Senators (is it "Federation" or is that Star Trek, I get them confused?).

2. I've had drinks with the guy that played Uncle Owen (Skywalker's adoptive dad, right? Again, sketchy on the story.)

3. Best of all. My Mum used to babysit Darth Veddar. (Dave Prouse, who played him in the original movie, although the Bristol accent got swiftly replaced by James Earl Jones. Probably a good move on George's part.)

On one of the extras DVD's they show scenes of Vader with the sound track as recorded on the set, i.e. David Prouse doing the lines
Apparently he was quite miffed to find he had been dubbed over.

Shame really, a Bristolian Vader would have been great in the final lightsaber showdown with Luke . . .

I know, but Smith does give away bits of the film, some might actually want to be surprised to find that Prowse plays Jar Jar Binks... whoops.

A slightly different angle...

Seems the moral minority are upset they might have to actually attend the films with their under 13 year olds... as opposed to just using the movie theatre as a babysitter.... roll

Now who gets the tut-tutting and finger wagging for omitting a spoiler alert?

I'd have loved to hear Darth Vader say "We'll rule the galaxy as father and son (and Portishead)" in his Bristol accent!!
I met Dave Prowse too. when I was a nipper, he came to our school doing his Green Cross Code Man thing.
