Do you think the bride that runaway should be charged with anything criminal?
I really didn't understand the fuss that was being made of this case. For some reason an all out points bulletin was made within hours of her disappearing despite the fact she is a woman in her early 30's and about to get married. I doubt she even realised the whole of the USA was on the look out for her whilst she was sitting on the bus to Las Vegas and then onto New Mexico. I could imagine that once she realised what was going on, she panicked and said the first thing in her brain (obviously a tiny one).
Jeez anyone would think she was the first woman in the world to jilt her boyfriend at almost the last minute. He should be thankful, she did it now and not some years down the line, when it would of really hit his wallet.
I suspect her real punishment will be the embarrassment she will suffer when she faces all her family and friends. If I was her, I wouldn't be seen outside for a good few months.
Do you have a link to the story?
Well she wasted a lot of police time and then the kidnapping story was stupid. Charged with stupidity? I'm sure this type of thing happens every day, it's just when the media gets ahold of it it's pretty embarrassing.
Would they of been searching for her if she'd been a minority? Did the media only cover this, with the hope that it would of ended up being a 'murdered by boyfriend' case? Not sure she should be charged, but maybe asked to repay the expenses the state incurred for searching for her.
Zed
I agree with Zed. No criminal charges per se, but a hefty fine for wasting police time and resources would seem appropriate
I don't care about her running from the altar but she showed little intelligence in telling hysterical lies.
Saw this story on Wednesday night on my hotel TV (don't usually watch the news but was away for a couple of nights).
I said at the time that she'd got cold feet so was not at all surprised that she turned up on Saturday.
The cold feet part is fine and her business but telling the police that she was kidnapped is cowardly and wasted their time. They have enough to deal with, like real kidnapped kids, which are far more deserving of their attention.
A month in jail will sort her out and warn others not to involve the authorities in their little, soap-operatic lives.
It was premeditated as she bought the greyhound ticket last week . she cut her hair so she would,nt be recognized meaning she knew they would be looking for her . she filed a false police report naming her abductor as a hispanic man ..
she cost the county valuable police personnel and time .
She obviuosly has some sort of a mental problem . needs to repay the country for its financial outlay ,go to jail for filing a false police report, and get phyciatric help ,AT LEAST id add good spanking to the above punishments .
She is a spoilt brat .

While I don't condone what she has done, I think a statement like that could only be made if you know her personally. If that is the case, then do fill us in on the rest of the story. Of course, the facts behind making such a judgement could have come from what you read or heard on the news, which we all know to be absolutely 100% accurate, unprejucided, every time, without fail. Right?
I voted for stocks and vegetables.
Would they of been searching for her if she'd been a minority?
Or a man?

God, you have been here too long.
Would they of been searching for her if she'd been a minority?
Or a man?
True (unfortunately)
