Bugger, bugger, bugger...
I'm not a Chelsea fan but fair play to them. 8)
I suppose it makes a change from Arsenal/Man Utd.
When you buy a team the way Chelsea did it makes a mockery of the whole thing

Real Chelsea fans know its a team built on a cross of goal and that this championship is a sham.

Real football fans know that is a Premier League built upon a foundation of money and greed. It doesnt seem to matter which team you are whether its Man Utd, Tottenham, Chelsea, (who spend to win the title) or a Palace (who had to spend just to try and stay up  ) that TV revinue money and extra is going towards payroll, and in the case of teams like Man Utd, Arsenal & Chelsea (and other Champion's League teams) its extra money through european competitions which give them an extra financial advantage. Like in all sports a high payroll doesnt buy you a trophy and for that its a gamble, teams have gone that way and lost, just look at Newcastle for that. The only team in the premiership who havent gone out on a big spending binge sacked their manager for telling them that they had to spend money to stay up and that was Gary Megson at the baggies. I'm not saying that Abramovich is a great person or that Chelsea is a great club but winning that championship by going out and buying players isnt a 'sham' it seems to be a reality of the game.

Personally, I think it harms the game, there seems to be an ever widening gap between the haves and havenots. I'll be interested to see how Chelsea do next season at defending their title but if I were a Chelsea fan I'd worry about that when it comes I'd probably be thinking of today and not tomorrow

......and if the team YOU support had been bought by someone who could throw money around to buy players and THEY were now champions would you still say the same as you are now about THEM roll

Sour grapes, as Johna says wink

Its been a long time coming when you have been a fan as long as I have and I'm enjoying every minute of it lol

If it was a crook like Abramovic who made his money milking the Russian people and being involved in Aluminum wars, where he no doubt was involved in the murder of dozens of people and the only reason he's not in jail is that he cosies up to Putin. Then I wouldn't want that sort of character to sully the good name of my team.

I think its the point of taking an ethical stand and not sour grapes. The guy could have done the same with Woking for f*cks sake.

I agree with BOC, the popularity of the Premiership has created an undesirable situation, but when teams like Chelsea, Norwich and Charlton start winning the title then where's the reality in that.

If all this type of nonsense carries on you'll have the likes of Plymouth getting into the Premiership next.

You cheeky git!

Abramovich does make a bit of a mockery of the Premier League though. He's spent what? £700 million since he's been there to secure the title? That's about £1 million per day!

Somehow, I doubt this will last so drink up ye cider Chelsea fans - it may not last long.

So if Abramovic bought Spurs you would stop supporting them

I'd suspend my support and I wouldn't count any of the trophies won in that period.
It would be the same with any criminal who took over the club, by supporting, you are condoning the actions of a criminal.
The European Court is investigating him now because he is suspected of gaining European subsidies using bogus companies.
