I'm new here - can anyone tell me how long it takes from the date of processing the I-175 (lifting restrictions) to the physical interview?
The form was sent to Nebraska last May and they are currently processing March 2004.
My daughter will be naturalizing and she will file for us at the same time.
Lifting restrictions is something that is for new spouses of US citizens. If you are moving to the US as the parent of a US citizen, you shouldn't have to do this. You'd get your permanent green card status on entry.
Hi - I'm sorry I did not make my position clear.
My daughter married a US citizen - and has a green card. She filed her I-751 last May. She has just filed for naturalization as it is 90 days before the 3rd anniversary date of the stamp in her passport.
My husband and I wish to live in the US so I am led to believe that when she goes to her interview and says her oath to become naturalized she may file for us?
I just want some idea how long after her I-751 is processed until she is likely to get her interview.
It all depends on the local offices/service centers that are involved in the processing, but the I-751 should come through within the time period that you are waiting for naturalisation, especially given that it was filed a year ago.
Naturalisation, for most places, takes between 12 and 24 months (you can look up your specific office). After that, she can petition for you to immigrate, and this petition takes about a year to process also. Basically, you are looking at moving in 2-3 years time (closer to 3).

I filed April 2002 and was interviewed January 2004 if that is any help.
I had re-filed though about a year after the first filing so this may have slowed it down a bit - assume mine is about the longest it would take wink
