Possibly one of England's most famous actors has died at the age of 97. I know he won an Oscar for his role in Ryan's Daughter and has been in a load of movies over the years, but I think I'll always remember John Mills for the war film Ice Cold In Alex, The Family Way which he was cast alongside Hywel Bennett and his daughter Hayley Mills and for his TV incarnation of Quatermass in the late seventies. I realise I may be doing John Mills an injustice by not mentioning movies like Great Expectations, Scott Of The Antarctic, In Which We Serve, We Dive At Dawn, Hobson's Choice, The Colditz Story and many more films. Its a sad loss for the Mills family and a sad loss for possibly one of England's most beloved actors.
