He's very conservative and has been the right hand man of the JP for a long time. There's been a lot of buzz about him in the press over the last couple of weeks. Latest was that forces were aligning against him to seek someone more moderate and less confrontational. Appears that was wrong.

We can't expect much in the way of Christian unity - his description of the Anglican Church as "not a real church, but an ecclesiastical community" set back unity efforts by decades.

Well im glad that part is over and we will soon be back to regular programming on the box .
It will be just a few weeks while they discuss how holy he is and how much he will do the church ,no mention will be made of how many boys he may have abused in the past .
Jews beware the palastinin cuase wil have a new ourspoken supporter if what i read is true and he was a jackbooted facist .

I'm glad they've chosen so quickly and have to admit, living with a lapsed catholic of the RC variety, I'm not in the least bit surprised over the choice.
